A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Football has been a part of my life since I was 7 years old. I hope in my current capacity as a coach, I can pass on my knowledge and passion to the next generation of football stars, regardless of the level played.

The main drive has always been enjoyment and development… My football career started at Cirencester Town, at the age of 7. Learning the feel of a football at my toes. While playing at Cirencester Town for many years, I didn’t always make the squad on match days initially. But trying to emulate icons like Ian Wright, Paul Ince, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke – I kept practicing and improving. Eventually making it to Vice-Captain and Captain in respective seasons. where we had many successful league and cup runs.

Stepping into men's football - I was selected to play right wing-back. Giving me the free-reign to push forward and score as many goals as possible. During this time, I was scouted by Fairford Town at 17 years old and had the great honour of being paid to play the game I love at Semi Professional level. This opened my eyes to the truly tactical nature of football, and fitness. I soaked up a huge amount of knowledge about the game, and myself. Only leaving Fairford as I was leaving for university.

While playing multiple positions for the De Montfort University first team - centre forward / winger / centre midfield. I was approached by Lincoln City scouts for a trial. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at obtaining a professional contract.

Fast forward a few years – graduated and wiser, I moved back to Cirencester. Where I played for a few teams. Siddington – won the local league. Beeches – won the local cup a few times. And I was fortunate to be back playing at semi professional level for Slimbridge FC. I eventually hung my boots up after a season at Bibury FC.
Coaching started with my eldest son at the age of 6. He wanted to play for a team – so my coaching career started at Cirencester Town FC. At the time I was coaching multiple youth teams, as well as the mini soccer for 5 year-olds.

Had a very brief stint as Assistant Coach for Forest Green Ladies team – with the FA coach that delivered my FA Level 1 coaching course, but as the games clashed with my son’s team, I had to unfortunately walk away.
I have been coaching for 10+ years – still enjoying the development of children, watching them progress in their football. Solid fundamentals enable greater levels of skill and understanding of the beautiful game.
